    Winding Down
I only have 2 weeks and 1 day left to this co-op. Ten work-days. It would be 11, what with the "1 day" but for the fact that my last Monday is President's Day, and it's a holiday, and I'll be in another state visiting with my sister and my nephew.

I may possibly (although not definitely) have just that much work left to do. I am getting to the point where I am not taking on any large assignments, because I need to be sure that I can finish the stuff already assigned to me.

And I also care a hell of a lot less. I'm getting my work done, and I think I'm still doing a good job, I just can't wait to be DONE.

Of the time I've been here, I think I've left the building at lunch less than 10 times. Once to buy wrapping paper for a birthday gift I needed to give right after work, and the rest were, for the most part, to do some Christmas shopping: Eddie Bauer twice and Macy's once.

A few weeks ago, when our cold weather first hit, I was feeling stir crazy and went for a walk to Borders. I bought the South Beach Diet, which I then found was an absolutely waste of money, because apparently, I already am on the South Beach Diet, without knowing it or trying. I just tend to eat that way.

Today, since I don't want to be at work anymore, I went for a walk again. I went into H & M, because I know these headbands that I like with my shorter hair are coming into style, and I thought they'd have some. They did, but they were leopard print. I am not a leopard-print sportin' kind of girl. Women (grr) with haggard looking hands shouldn't be wearing leopard print head bands.

So I passed on the headbands and went to Borders instead.

That's where I bought the Burt's Bees oily non-haggard-hand goop. (Which, by the way, is made with Almond Milk and smells super eatable. I mean to say "eatable" and not edible, by the way. )

    I also bought two books:

Rebecca's Tale, by Sally Beauman; and
My Name is Asher Lev, by Chaim Potok (thanks, Joey!)

I looked for my book group book, which is The Foretelling, by Alice Hoffman. They didn't have it, because they are stupid.

I felt guilty while in Borders. I prefer to shop at independent bookstores, and we have a really amazing one in my town. I was 1/2 wondering if I should put my stuff back, and visit my store later. However, later is my book group with J. Tomorrow is movie night with the fam. Saturday is .... too far away, and I'll forget the books I wanted, and I apparently don't believe that strongly in shopping local or independent.

Now all I have to do is put my books under my desk, and get back to work. I need to look at case law in my state dealing with conditions precedent to contract performance. And I'd like to leave a little early today, so I can pick up the girls and get some dinner before we have to do all the things required to get all the people in the places they need to be due to book group tonight.
