surprise, surprise

sure, Gates was director of the CIA, b/c Papa Bush appointed him as such!! This article describes him as a "hard-liner" who in the early 90's was more aligned with Cheney than with Colin Powell.

I wish it was the other way around ... but I guess we can't be too grabby, especially today.
