how much pain can i tolerate?
sometimes, when my mood is altered in a perhaps illegal way .... I think it's slightly enjoyable to bite the inside of my cheek for as long as I can take it. See how much pain I can handle. And when I stop, the blood rushing back into those places that were deprived feels kind of good.

In that way, I hope that the Democrats lose tomorrow.

    I wonder what would happen?

What would it take? For this country to snap out of its American Idol and Biggest Loser

    H - A - Z - E

and insist upon something new? something different? something non-Democrat? something non-Republican? to take the dashed promise of Howard Dean, and turn it into something real? Something that says "fuck you! this is fucking ridiculous! the world is a MESS!!

if the democrats take over tomorrow, then in 2008, the Republicans point their fingers at the Democrats. They take turns. They strategize over whose turn comes when, and then they point like mad.

    grrrr.

Can't we have something in the middle? something that looks at people? and tries to figure out what people need to do well? perhaps takes pinches of Republicanism and fistfuls of Democratic principles, and perhaps, just perhaps find something in the middle that looks like a community? not a corporatocrasy? something about individuals and families and solutions and goodness?

just a wee bit of goodness?

which is made of people helping people.

what would it take? for people to change things? PEOPLE to change things. Not for the Democrats to change things - not for the Republicans to change things, but for us, the PEOPLE to change things?

    love, zuska.
    and all her discontent.
