drizzly morning walk |
the girls left for school at 7:50 this a.m., and i walked out right behind them. i had to take my brief for appellate advocacy up to the Kinkos in town, get it bound, and then take it to school to hand in.
that went quickly. i got to Kinkos at approx. 8:07, and walked out at 8:27 (and I had left for about 10 minutes in between, to go get a peppermint mocha at starbucks while the dude bound my thing).
i then went to school ... it was raining, and i was not on the bike. kinko's is not in a good bike location, anyway. i therefore took the train. i felt like i was making good time, so i got off at a spot that requires a bit more of a walk, but no train transfers - i figured i'd rather walk (and perhaps take a little longer) than venture deeper into boston just to switch trains and head back out on the other line, being all cramped and squished in a damp warm train on a mild rainy day. so i took a walk.
i went to hand in my brief, and the secretary's office was locked up tight. i had to make arrangements with academic affairs to get the paper to the professor, and then headed back home to OUTLINE TAX (trying to remind myself of my task, with those all caps).
I decided that today would be a good day to walk home through Boston's famous Emerald Necklace. Why not? It can't take THAT long, right?
well, it did. I thought, at 8:30 a.m., that I was making such good time. But a train, a walk, another walk, and now 2.5 hours later, I'm finally home. Geez.
I need to go work on Tax.
I have nowhere else to be until 5:30, when I pick up j. from her acting class. I hope I can get close to done in 6 hours. |
