Best Distraction Ever: Next Year's Schedule
Time to start thinking about what to take next year!!

In the fall, I would like to take:

    Appellate Advocacy (2 credits)
    Basic Income Taxation (4 credits)
    Comparative Law (3 credits)
    Professional Responsibility (MUST!!!) (3 credits)

That's 12 - which is enough. But the other items of interest include Labor Law; Balancing Security and Liberty [which I had wanted to take LAST year, but took Family Law instead, which I believe was a MISTAKE]; and Law, Policy and Society. Those could be my back-ups, in case I don't get into the ones I want, or if there are schedule conflicts. I am working some in Labor & Employment this summer, and if that goes well, and I think of that being an end destination, then I will definitely have to scrap something for hte sake of Labor Law. We shall see. It will probably be Tax that gets scrapped - I don't want a boring quarter. It's my third year!!

    And in the Spring:

First Amendment (I can't wait! I'm drooling already!!)
    International Law
    Intellectual Property
    Immigration Law

2 interesting classes, and 2 useful classes - 12 credits total. There isn't much there as a "back up" for that quarter. I suppose Trusts and Estates [which people HATE this quarter, and cannot stay awake through] and Legislation. I really loved the legislative involvement I had over my winter co-op, so that class won't be the end of the world. but otherwise, the spring has pretty slim pickin's. Unless i want to do trademark law (blech) or securities regulation (ptooey). I could also try and get into a trial practice class, which could be fun.

I'm doing a trial practice "training" thing this coming summer with the firm i'm heading off to. I'm a wee nervous about it. I didn't have to sign up for it, though - i chose to push myself on through - i figured doing a few day training for pay is easier than doing a quarter-long class, which I pay for.
