When rain is a good thing .....
softball is canceled for tonight. so instead of rushing home by 5:30 to turn around and walk with Thing One across town for a game, i get to stay at school until 6:30 or so and catch up a wee bit from all the work i got behind on yesterday, when i rushed home in order to get ready for book group, cleaned the house for book group, shopped for book group, cut up fruit for bookgroup, etc.

Which was the day after I missed classes b/c Thing One was home with a fever. It was a nice day -- beloved was my usual savior in that he stayed home for a bit first thing in the a.m. so i could run a paper to school that was due by 8:30, and then i went to the gym, and then went back home, and he went into work for 11. Thing One and I watched The Price is Right (but there was no Plinko ... although I think Thing One likes the Showcase Showdown better, anyway, and then she read a book and dozed on the couch while I read the dreaded corporations. The babysitter arrived at approx 2:15 after getting Thing Two situated into the car pool to her theater class, and I went and read an obnoxious # of pages for Fed Courts. It was truly a very pleasant day.

Both my sweeties had softball on Sunday, and they both did pretty well. Thing One is in a new "division" this year - having left the "instructional league" of 2nd and 3rd graders, and joined the "rookies" of 4th and 5th grade meaning that their games are a wee bit more competitive and serious. It was really fun to watch. In that regard, it's sad that I don't get to go watch her tonight. And if she were playing, i would most definitely be there. She's not though, b/c it's raining, and I'm glad.

Because this Corporations -- man! what good stuff!!!
