    Intermingling of Seasons
While we were doing this inside:

(Thing 2's creation, but mostly my efforts)

    (Thing 1's work and creation)

(And mine - Thing 1 was very upset with
me for not making a "scary" pumpkin
this year - but who asked her?)

And all the while -- it was doing this outside:

In October? But Trick-or-treating day is forecast for 70 degrees. Phew.

How was the trick or treating? We got some cool ones here in DC!

A witch, A witch in disguise as a fairy (the witch's sister), The Reaper Bunny, a Ninja, 3 devils, a princess, and an army officer.

There were a multitude of others that I missed. I got to hand out candy, but it would have been fun to escort!

It went very well. First year that the girly-q's hooked up with friends, and gave me strict orders to hang WAY back. I had a spider and a witch, myself. The others in the group were a vampire, the Phantom of the Opera, Elvis, and Draco Malfoy (from Harry Potter).

The most creative costume we saw was a boy who constructed a house to wear. The front porch was open at top, and was a compartment for candy collection. He made it himself, and it was VERY cool. He's a friend of Thing One - so that means he is 9 and in the 4th grade. I was duly impressed.
