my parents are coming, my parents are coming!
And my house is a freaking MESS.

We're all working pretty frantically on the situation. I really am NOT a good housekeeper. I was sweeping in the kitchen, and saw that there's this LIP under my cabinets on the floor where enough dust has collected that little cobwebs had formed. I was so perplexed to think of who THINKS of this things? "Oh, I must now go dust the underside of my cabinets." I am not that person. I am so far from that person, I do not UNDERSTAND that person.

    (my mother is that person).

I would really love to pass the housekeeping torch to someone who is looking to earn some extra money in that fashion. Beloved seems to not believe in this concept, but at the same time, he ain't dusting under the cabinets, either. So if (when) the day comes that family time is already limited by careers and sports and writing deadlines and social lives .... I'm going to hire someone to help out with these chores. I will be more than humane, and I will likely look for a mom who prefers to be home with a young child, but is also looking to make some extra cash. I knew quite a few people, when I was a mom at home, who chose to do these types of things to supplement the family income.

In the meantime, I'm on my hands and knees washing floors, and I'm paying e. $$ to do their laundry, since it's an "extra" chore, and she already did her basic chores with little to no complaining.

Every now and then I'm calling J. out from her room-cleaning (which always takes an entire day with her) to do a run-through of her solo for tonight.

    She's so damned CUTE.
